This end-of-year tournament is the season finale to the BlackRock Tour of Champions, a year-long Tour that makes its way across Europe and the world and pits past tennis champions against each other in order to earn ranking points (see Qualification below).
In order to play in a BlackRock Tour of Champions event, the player must no longer be active on the ATP Tour and have either been:
• Ranked Number 1 in the World
• A Singles Finalist in a Grand Slam Championship
• A Singles Player on a winning Davis Cup Team

The BlackRock Masters Tennis is now firmly established as the UK’s most popular indoor tournament – it is televised on the BBC and draws crowds of more than 30,000 over the course of the event.

QUALIFICATION
The top seven players from the BlackRock Tour of Champions Rankings at the end of the tournament preceding the BlackRock Masters Tennis will qualify automatically for London, with five wildcards making up a field of 12.
Players must compete in a minimum of two BlackRock Tour of Champions events in order to be eligible for qualification.

There will be exhibition Doubles matches from Tuesday to Thursday.
Friday will see the start of our competitive Doubles tournament. Eight of the exhibition Doubles players will be joined in a draw with the 4 singles players who failed to qualify for the Singles Quarter finals.

SESSION TIMINGS
Tuesday to Saturday:
2 sessions with play commencing at 1.00pm and 7.30pm
Sunday:
1 session with play commencing at approximately 1.30pm.

CHARITY INVOLVEMENT
On Tuesday 4th December 2007, Tim Henman will once again be taking part in a special charity exhibition match in aid of Kids at Heart, during the evening session.
Friday night (quarter finals) was the Gala Charity Night for 2006 and the BlackRock Masters Tennis chose to support Give It Your Max and KINOE. The tournament also helped raised funds for other charities throughout the week including Kids at Heart, Tennis First and Brainwave.
The BlackRock Masters Tennis is highly supportive of charities and has been involved with a wide range of organisations through various means, raising more than £580,000 since the event started in 1997. Some of those we have helped are:
